The Ouachita Parish Public Library is pleased to announce the latest service for you – downloadable eaudiobooks from Recorded Books and NetLibrary.

We now offer thousands of digital audiobook titles, including bestsellers such as David McCullough’s 1776 and Alexander McCall Smith’s The No. 1 Ladies Detective Agency, classics such as Twain’s The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn and Bronte’s Wuthering Heights, and the award-winning Pimsleur language series.  More titles are added monthly.   • this service can be accessed from any computer, 24 hours a day, seven days a week
  • unlimited copies are available, so there are no more holds to worry about
  • no more overdue fines – unless they are renewed, titles cease to play after 21 days
  • patrons can check out up to 10 titles at one time
  • downloading is available without any special software, with either dial-up or high speed, to your computer or portable player

NetLibrary eAudiobooks now offers many file formats that can be downloaded including formats for iPod. Each book may have one or more formats to choose from. See below.

***Many computers come with virus or privacy software already pre-installed. If you do have software such as McAfee, Norton, EZArmor, Zone Alarm, etc. please disable both the privacy service and the spam killer or you will not be able to access the NetLibrary pages. Keep the virus scan and the firewall features enabled. If you have any difficulty in accessing at the NetLibrary site you can call their Tech Support at 1-800-848-5800, option 7.
