Descriptions of the Databases that are accessible are listed below:

Novelist is an electronic reader's advisory resource which assists fiction readers in finding new authors and titles. Readers are allowed to use a favorite author or title as a template to locate other items of interest. Users can browse over 1,200 theme-oriented booklists, 150 award-lists and 1,000 fiction related web sites.

 
Infotrac/Searchbank is a database with citations as well as full-text articles from numerous magazines and journals. Articles cover topics such as current news, health, and business. Academic subjects are included in the Expanded Academic database and the General Business File contains business articles and investment reports and profiles of over 100,000 companies.

 
The GaleNet databases contains biographies and literary criticisms of over 1200 authors in the Discovering Authors module. There are also biographies on over 2000 famous individuals from ancient times to the present. Reference articles in the scientific disciplines of physical science, math, and medicine is included in the Discovering Science product and Exploring Poetry provides information and criticisms of 200 poems.

 
The InfoUSA database contains information on US companies such as address, telephone and fax numbers, contact person, estimated sales, credit rating, etc. It' s searchable by company name, SIC code, and the search can be limited by type of business, business size or geography.

  WebSPIRS contains ERIC and MEDLINE databases. Use ERIC to find citations to articles in education from the Department of Education's Resource and Information Clearinghouse. MEDLINE Express offers citations to articles in health and medicine from the National Institute of Health's Medline Database.

Proquest Direct from UMI provides access to full-text articles from two Louisiana newspapers-The New Orleans Times-Picayune and the Baton Rouge Advocate. Coverage for the Advocate is from 1995-present. Coverage for the Times-Picayune is from 1990-present.
